Mean Girls was released 10 years ago today. This means that I’m getting old. But that’s not the point here. Mean girls isn’t your typical High School Movie (drunken orgies , not really my thing) is about sociology (e.g. The cliques in the school) , to whoever studied sociology and saw this movie know what I mean, simply it’s a fountain of knowledge passed down from Tina Fey as a gift to the world! Oh,& just saying Tina also created the most quotable film on the planet.
Many people who haven’t seen this movie think it’s just a teen movie about shopping or girls stuff . Besides being able to literally quote the entire movie, there are tons of things I learned from Mean Girls that have really stuck with me. Actually, the main reason why I love this movie it’s because i think it is an anti-bullying movie.
The most Important lesson this movie taught me it’s to don’t let the desire for something someone got distract you and make you jealous. Telling yourself a person is “less than” you in any regard doesn’t make you a bigger or better person. When you stop comparing yourself to other people, you can start focusing on you and your goals. Be the best version of yourself, and don’t rely on your image.
I’m happy that my generation grew up with Mean Girls. Nowadays It’s harder than ever for teens, the real mean girls can not be found only in high school but there is a new type : the Mean Girls online. Girls that think they can say whatever they want because it’s the internet and the person they’re being mean to has no way of knowing it’s them behind that anonymous face.
Don’t follow them or sink to their level. Forget about them NOW! (And to all the girls trying to be the new plastics, YOU AREN’T COOL STOP TRYING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.)
(And by the way,I think Lindsay Lohan is still cool ).
I sincerely hope the young women of today get a “new classic” of their own to grow up with. If not you know what you can you watch. After 10 years watching this movie it was like a flashback to the chaos of adolescence but remembered in tranquility, thinking about those who made it out and found their real clique. Finally we can look back on it and laugh about our period drama.
At the end of the day, nobody is going to give a sh*t about your reputation in highschool .Now I can say: adolescence is when you have a simple life that you see as very complicated. While adulthood come when life gets really complicated. But don’t worry I can promise you that you will learn some skills during your period drama that will help you through adulthood. And then you will need to learn new more skills. That’s life.
Or your life will just end up with you being a "Cool Mom" .
Oh,by the way today is Wednesday, isn’t incredibly cosmic?
And I’m sorry for all the people have felt personally victimized by me.
